What We Do
The mission of HLAA is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support, and advocacy. Our chapter's newsletters provide useful information about hearing loss. Our meetings and events offer opportunities to meet others and learn about “being good at hearing loss.” Charlotte chapter participates in health fairs and supports other community events and nonprofits that benefit people with hearing loss. We also provide post-secondary scholarships for area students with hearing loss. We help organize and participate in the NC Walk4Hearing, an annual awareness and fundraising event, that brings together families and friends (and pets!) to advocate for people with hearing loss.
