HLAA Wake Scholarship Program

The HLAA Wake Chapter scholarship program provides $500 scholarships for one or more students with hearing loss who are graduating from high school and continuing their education.  The goal of the scholarship is to recognize their success.

Applications are open to high school seniors who reside in Wake County and are seeking acceptance at an accredited university, college or community college. They also must have a moderate hearing loss or more and wear a hearing aid or cochlear implant. Financial need is not a consideration. The $500 scholarship is a one-time award and will be sent to the recipient when s/he begins classes. Refer a potential applicant to the HLAA Wake Chapter Web Site at www.nchearingloss.org/wake.htm or to these two forms:

  • Scholarship Application Form
  • Scholarship Reference Letter Form

The scholarship program is made possible by the generous support of participants in the North Carolina Walk4Hearing, a hearing health awareness and fundraising event conducted by the Hearing Loss Association of America.
We're proud to announce the two recipients of for 2024, Ian Fann and Shannon Williams.  You can't help being impressed when you read their stories by clicking on those links.
