Hearing Loss Association of North Carolina

The Wilmington Chapter is not currently meeting. If you have a hearing loss and are in the Wilmington area we suggest the following:

• Join Hearing Loss Association of America at www.hearingloss.org. You'll be helping yourself and all people with hearing loss. You'll receive the great "Hearing Loss" magazine from HLAA. Read it and learn about how you can make the most of your hearing through technology, strategies and attitude.
• If you can attend an HLA-NC state-level meeting, you're welcome. We'd love to have anyone interested in furthering the cause of hearing loss. We only meet at the state level a couple of times a year, but meeting information is posted at www.nchearingloss.org on the home page.
• If you are near one of the other chapters when they meet, contact them to confirm meeting time and place and attend. Local chapters are always happy to have visitors.
• Attend the next HLAA national convention and be amazed at how great the sessions, vendor area, friendships and fun can be when you're in a hotel just full of people who understand, and are willing to share.
• Contact the Hard of Hearing Services Specialist at the Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing's Wilmington Regional Center. They may know other people with hearing loss interested in meeting and perhaps reactivating the HLA Wilmington chapter.
