A few partial and full scholarships are available to help people who might otherwise not be able to attend the Hearing Loss Association of North Carolina's Focus on Hearing conference but would benefit from it. This pages defines the opportunity and how to apply for yourself or for someone else who might qualify. We regret that more funds are not available. Criteria for Consideration

The scholarship committee will consider applicants based on the following factors. Factors are not in any particular order.

A partial registration scholarship consists of an offer of an extreme discount off the normal registration rates. The recipient must register and pay the appropriate discounted rate below, but they'll be entitled to full participation in the conference including the Saturday Celebration luncheon if they attend on Saturday.

A very limited number of full scholarships are available. Those selected for full scholarships will be able to register for one or both days of the conference and be entitled to all benefits of the conference including the Celebration Luncheon on Saturday if they are attending on Saturday.

Please write a brief letter documenting the following:
- Name of the person being considered for the Scholarship
- Contact information (email preferrably, and US Mail address) for the person being considered
- Justification for the Scholarship (see factors above)
- Special needs if any (accessibility, transportation)
- Attendance Day(s): Specify, Friday, Saturday, Either, or Both
- Name of the person submitting this letter and contact information (preferrably email address)
- Please indicate the type of scholarship being applied for: partial only, full only, or either

Hearing Loss Association of North Carolina will notify the applicant and the person submitting the request by 1 September, 2007 whether we are able to honor the request. Our apologies that the funds are limited, so only a few full scholarships can be offered. Naturally more partial scholarships can be honored, since our conference costs are partially covered by the deeply discounted fee.
