Durham Chapter North Carolina Self Help for Hard of Hearing People, Inc. |
Programs may include members discussing solutions to hearing loss problems, and often, an outside speaker will give a presentation related to hearing loss. There's also time for social interaction and snacks at most meetings.
The Durham Chapter serves the Durham area. Attendees are primarily from Durham but oftentimes persons from the areas of Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Roxboro and Raleigh attend. Everyone is welcome.
An audioloop is provided at all meetings, so people with telecoil equipped hearing aids or cochlear implants can hear the meeting better. CAN (Computer Assisted Notetaker) service is also provided. Whatever is said is typed by a computer notetaker and displayed on a screen so all attendees can participate.
