AIED

Autoimmune inner ear disease (AIED) is one of many causes of hearing loss. It is relatively rare. AIED is when a person's natural immune systems attacks their hearing by damaging their inner ear.

The hearing loss may occur over a few months or it may be more rapid.

Typical symptoms include hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and abnormal antibody presence in the blood.

Symptoms are often similar to Meniere's Syndrome.

Other specific AIED syndromes that affect hearing loss include: Bechet's Disease and Cogan's Syndrome.

Do a Google Search for AIED.
